It is a process by which plants trap solar energy and convert them into chemical energy for the process of making food.
This is a bookish definition ,but we need to understand it's meaning.
So why do plants need solar energy they need that because they don't have the power to lovomote or any kind of movement to collect their food. We humans have that power. so howll plants survive then . They trap solar energy means the energy from the sun and simply convert them into chemical energy.
Why is it needed for conversion?.
It is needed because without the conversation the solar energy will be vapourised and go back to environment again without benefitting the plant. That's why plants convert the energy and that is required for making food source.
