Hello, I’m Joy, your skin and beauty blogger. So, I briefly mentioned "Acne" in my previous piece, and I've decided to expand on it today. I see a lot of individuals suffering with this when they have no idea what they have. How can you find a solution when you don't know what's triggering it?
Anyway, that's all over now because I'm going to explain why your acne isn't going away despite using dozens of cheap and pricey products, even ones that are considered the holy grail for everyone.
Have you considered the possibility that you are just using the wrong products? Yes, you've probably heard this before, but what I mean is that you're using the wrong product that has nothing to do with your skin problem, or you're not even using the right method of treatment. Stay with me, we'll get there; did you know there are acne causes? And these causes decide the type of acne you have, how you got it, and how to get rid of it. But before we get started, let's define Acne.
So the skin is the largest organ of the body, and on the skin we have something called "the sebaceous gland," which is responsible for producing an oily substance called "sebum" that naturally moisturizes our skin and hair, keeps them from drying out, and can be thought of as a natural lubricant. Sebum is beneficial to our skin, but it becomes a problem when it clogs our tiny hair pores, you know, the tiny hole where your body hair grows? That one, yes.
Now the question: How does my pores get clogged or blocked?
This happens when your skin produces excess oil that mixes with dead skin cell on your skin then voila! your pores are blocked.
Now this is where I’m going; you’d notice two important phrases in my last statement above which are; excess oil and dead skin cells
Yes! These are the perpetrators, guilty as charged! I wish we could just sentence them to life imprisonment so they never come back!
What causes excess oil Joy?
I hear someone asking from the back, don’t worry Linda I’m getting right into it.
Acne is caused by fluctuations in bodily hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, and these changes in hormones occur most commonly during the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and menopause, therefore if your acne appears just when you have any of these or it increases then you have hormonal acne. If you use hormonal acne treatments and eat a healthy diet to help control these hormones you should be OK. Personally, I would recommend nutritional supplements for hormonal acne because, since it affects hormones, it should be treated from the inside of the body rather than only the treatments applied to the outer skin. If you want to cure the problem at its root, you should start from within using supplements that work in this area and a healthy diet. You can easily get these supplements in drugstores, and stop taking too much sugar Linda! Let your hormones rest!
We will get into the other types of acne soon. Stay hydrated!
