National Indian Health Board (NIHB) Health Information Technology (HITECH) Regional Extension Center (REC)
Position Overview:
NIHB HITECH REC program is looking for a data entry person to effectively process data for the benefit of the NIHB REC. They need to have good keyboard speed and the ability to interpret information quickly and correctly. The data entry clerk will be responsible for entering provider and facility data into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database and collaborate with the NIHB CRM lead. As a part of the NIHB HITECH REC team the data entry clerk will create reports, provide weekly updates, and interact with Indian Health Service (IHS)/Tribal/Urban health facilities to obtain accurate and timely data.
This position is based in Washington, DC.
Essential Functions:
• Assists the CRM lead to compile statistics and reports on a weekly basis
• Process incoming provider agreement forms • Provide general clerical assistance to support professional staffing at NIHB
• Process large amounts of information from the providers from a variety of computer programs such as MS Word, Adobe PDF, and MS Excel • Verify correct data and delete unnecessary data before entering into the CRM and to ensure
there are no duplicate entries
• Have a working knowledge about Health Information Technology (IT) a plus
• Enter specific Health IT information and attention to detail to ensure accurate information is captured • Enters customer data in to a the CRM database by inputting alphabetic and numeric
information on keyboard • Secures information by completing data base backups
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes • Protects operations by keeping information confidential
• Other duties as assigned
