I have worked in big public sector in India and have been associated to business mapping in ERP.
I was in team for mapping business functions related to quality assurance and inspection activites on the items which are required to be installed and maintained in project/plant
We mapped the business function for intimation given by the vendor to organisation for material readiness at their works and registered information was handled by the organisation's representative for issuance of disptach clearance.
Dispatch clearance is enclosed with invoice for releasing the disptach payment against the item sent to project for installation
Intimation registered by the vendor in the system was allocated to particular inspection executive and who in turn issue the dispatch clearance after carrying out necessary checks on the item
